This is my final essay for Hutchins lower division. This was a great moment where I was able to take agency in what I became passionate about over the previous years and blend it into a cohesive paper.
Through reading the story of King Leopold, I learned about the atrocities that occurred in the Congo during his reign. This gave me such wider lens in being able to see just how far back the world's bad habit of profiting off of the backs of African people have gone.

Skills I learned from Lower Divsion

In small seminar setting, I learned how to carry on meaningful conversations by using effective leading questions based on the topic being discussed.

My libs classes helped be overcome my anxiety in seminar settings to the point where I can facilitate a conversation.

Lower division helped teach me the right skills for note taking and keeping track of textual information.

I also learned how to look into the deeper meaning embedded between the lines of a text.

This is where I learned how to ask better questions and to challenge either my own opinion, or differing opinions.
This is my final essay for my last libs class in lower division. This was driven by myself, and I could choose any topic that fell within the themes of this course.
Here, is an example of a typical format for note-taking and reflection for a text in a libs course. These notes are meant to be taken with structure and purpose. I picked a few pieces of importance, dug deeper, and analyzed them the more I thought about each piece.
