social justice & climate change

On this page you will find pieces of what I learned in terms of social justice and climate change. I was able to take courses that taught me more about how to be an activist and an advocate for others. Justine's climate change class allowed me to learn so much more about a topic that I was so passionate about before. Janet's Trevor Noah class; where we learned about Trevor Noah's life and became more avid readers and listeners of the news, helped me to look at social issues and think critically about where my news is going from, and how that effects social justice in our society. Justine's 202 class that I took in lower division right at the start of the pandemic was such a great start into learning about how Capitalism has overexploited our earth and its people.

With all of these pieces, I now look forward to teaching my students about some of these issues and how to create solutions for them. Taking these courses not only deepened my understanding for important issues such as these, but also helped me become a deep thinker and questioner. I want to help my students get to this point too; I want to be that stepping stone for them, like these professors were for me.
This was a tool kit that my classmates and I all compiled. It holds so many climate change lesson plan resources and it is out there for teachers to use!

This is my page in a children's book that my classmates and I put together to teach children about climate change! This book is also available for teachers to use.
